Shopping online is always a fun way to pass the time, but when your order arrives and it doesn't fit right or isn't how you pictured it, going through the return process can be a headache. Lots of online retailers are consistently updating their returns protocols to be as easy as possible, but it doesn't change the fact that your money has already been spent and you aren't happy.

Here are a few you should check out. Exclusively for Prime members, Prime Samples lets you try samples of food, baby items, beauty products, personal items, and household supplies. You can pick individual samples from their large selection, or you can select a box of pre-chosen samples in a specific product category.

Prime Wardrobe offers a similar concept but with clothing, shoes, and accessories. Fill your box, try them for seven days, and you can either keep them and get charged for only the items you wish to keep, or return them all for free in the box and with the return label provided. Choosing the right eyeglasses is a process that takes time. When the founders of Warby Parker were tackling the challenge of an online store for glasses, they decided to try the sampling idea for customers, and it stuck.

You can select five frames to test for five days and they'll ship them to you — for free! Send back the ones you don't want and only pay for the glasses that you wish to keep. ThirdLove has been making quite a splash with women. Order your bra with the help of their online guide in finding your exact size they have half sizes, too!

Don't love it? Return it for free, and they will donate it to their charity, Bras for All. Mattress purchases are challenging, and doubly so if you're buying them online.

So Casper makes it easy for you to give it a go. Buy your mattress, have it shipped right to your door, and then sleep on it for days. Re: Amazon prime try before you buy any real advantage to this? Post by lthenderson » Mon Oct 24, pm Prime Try Before You Buy is just Amazon's rebranded Prime Wardrobe.

The complaints I heard about Prime Wardrobe is that selection was limited, often the same item could be found much cheaper just buying it outright on Amazon Prime, and created lots of waste with all the individual bags they wrap the clothes in.

One must also consider the time and energy gas, depreciation on vehicle, bus fare, etc it takes to return all those unwanted items back to UPS. I suppose Amazon is trying again because it is a profitable business model when one relies on people forgetting all the return deadlines and being charged inflated prices versus someone just doing it one piece at a time before at a cheaper price.

Post by SmileyFace » Mon Oct 24, pm Looks like it is just a clothing thing. I don't typically buy clothes on Amazon - for name brands the price is higher than elsewhere in my experience - and I don't trust the quality Amazon-essentials or other off brands.

But to your point - I see no advantage anyway. I think you're allowed 7 items on trial at a time. If you order all 7 in the same trial, you have until 7 days after receipt of the final one to initiate the return before you get charged.

I'm sitting on 6 items received early in September and item 7 hasn't yet shipped and I have not been charged. Post by runninginvestor » Mon Oct 24, pm It helps if you don't want to charge your card until you actually buy the item.

After the 7-day window or so, it charges your card because it thinks you bought it. But you can still do a day return at that point. If the item allows returns, which I think most everything at Amazon does. I find it helpful with a disability as I can try on things at home when I have help with a little more flexibility.
